Automatic Update Problem

If you are system administrator in your office, one time you face a automatic update related problem in your client side, your wsus server show a some machine failed update.


Solution of these problems:

1.Start-> Run-> Type Services.msc
Start some servies
a) Automatic Update Services
b) Computer Browsing
c) BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Services)
d) Windows Installer

Now in Registry:
Start-> Run->Regedit
HKey_Local_Machine->Software->Policies->Microsoft->Windows->Windows Update->AU
In right panel,insert or change any of the following value as necessary

• Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: No Auto Update
Value: 0 or 1

0: Automatic Update are enabled (default)
1: Atomatic Update are disabled

• Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: AU Option
Value: 1 through 4

1: Automatic Update are disabled.
2: Notify of download and Installation
3: Automatically download and notify of installation
4: Automatically download and scheduled installation

• Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: Scheduled Install Day
Value: 0 through 0

0: Everyday
1 through 7: The day of the week from Sunday (1) to Saturday (7)

• Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: Scheduled Install Time
Value: n where n equal the hour of the day in 24-hour time format (0-23)

• Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: Use WUServer
Value: 1
